Illumination system simulator

LightSim is an illumination system simulator used to investigate how to position reflectors on target vehicles to yield the optimal beam pattern.

Any number of light sources can be accurately placed in space (coordinates, tilt angles etc.). Other graphical objects can be also be used to model vehicles. Real-life Ikaros measurements are loaded into LightSim to characterize the reflectors. LightSim then calculates the resulting intensity pattern in an arbitrary plane, for instance one corresponding to the road. 

LightSim can also be used to optimize the positioning of light sources to fulfil a given set of demands on the resulting intensity pattern.
